I wonder how traffic congestion is affecting our lives.  And I don't just mean our time and environment.  I mean our actual lives and societies.  All of that congestion of negative energy, pollution and emotions has to be doing something to the surroundings.  If you believe that focusing on something enough will affect it, then the amount of traffic congestion in the world has to be effecting something negatively.  The amount of frustation, irritability, and anger I produce from an hour in traffic is just unhealthy and unproductive.  Imagine how much I could do in that hour if I was relaxed, energetic, and unrestricted.  I not only prevent stress on my health, but also to those around me.  So we have to do something about this traffic.  You never know, it might even bring an end to the Middle East conflict.

You make an interesting observation, connecting traffic aggravation and the Middle east "conflict". Is "roadrage" in the US manifesting as culture clash in the Middle East? Maybe so.In one of his lectures, Parmahansa Yogananda pointed out that some horrific weather conditions in one part ot the world were the expression of human hostility in another. In one of his lectures, Eckhart Tolle specifically talked about the aggravation" of traffic, and using being "stuck" in traffic as an opportunity to develop a greater sense of Presence, and to realize that we have choice over our reactions.

Perhaps that's the message...be aware that you always have a choice of how you respond to any situation.

Here's a little bit of Eckhart Tolle:<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RofybYVNCe4&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RofybYVNCe4&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>
